Personally, if I had a Windows 7 computer, I would refuse the upgrade if I knew I would be purchasing a new computer after 2020. With all previous versions of Windows, you knew your device would work until end of support and in this case Windows 7 end of support is 2020 which is another 4 years from now. Since it is no longer supported, you are expected to purchase a new one. Microsoft specifically says that Windows 10 will be free until your device is no longer supported.Īny major Windows 10 update can render your device such as your microscope or printer useless.
